Gemini Launches New Onchain Wallet and Dashboard

The Gemini cryptocurrency exchange has just launched a self-custody wallet and onchain trading portal, amid low trading volume on the centralized exchange. This move comes after Gemini secretly filed an IPO in the US in June. The Gemini wallet uses passkey login method, eliminating the need for recovery phrases. The wallet can operate as a directly integrated wallet in decentralized applications (DApp) or as an independent wallet, helping users flexibly manage assets across multiple platforms. Passkey allows secure login via fingerprint, facial recognition, or device PIN. In addition, the Gemini Onchain Dashboard provides a web interface for token trading, DApp access, and investing in stablecoins or tokens into yield vaults. The wallet supports connection to DApps via WalletConnect, cross-chain swapping through Bungee, and offers profit opportunities from selected vaults on Arbitrum. Security partner Blockaid handles fraud and scam prevention. To attract new users, Gemini offers free gas for the first users, provides a free ENS subdomain, and collaborates with networks like Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism, and Base. This year, Gemini plans to add direct connection capabilities to exchange accounts to create a fully integrated management and trading experience. Gemini, founded in 2014 by billionaire brothers Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, is one of the famous CEXs but still has lower trading volume compared to competitors like Coinbase and Binance. In June, in addition to filing an IPO, Gemini also entered the tokenized stock market for EU customers, and recently, the two founders invested in Bitcoin mining company American Bitcoin Corp. related to the son of former US President Donald Trump.
