This year is a special year in the development of the Ethereum ecosystem. At the end of July, the Ethereum mainnet celebrated its 10th anniversary, and by August, the blockchain browser Etherscan, an important part of the Ethereum ecosystem, also reached its ten-year milestone.
To commemorate this moment, Etherscan has launched a points activity, sparking widespread speculation in the community about whether it will seize this opportunity to issue a token.
Etherscan Service Matrix
Etherscan is a Web3 blockchain browser platform focused on search, API, and analysis services. Founded in August 2015 around Ethereum and its community, it is one of the earliest and longest-running independent projects. Its core value lies in providing users with fair access to blockchain data, helping users easily explore block information, transaction details, smart contract code, and other key data.
After years of development, Etherscan's service matrix has continuously expanded.
In addition to basic block browsing functionality, it offers API services, smart contract verification, Gas fee tracking (Gas Tracker), labeling systems, and other practical tools.
At the same time, its supported blockchain networks have expanded from Ethereum to multiple chains, including the Etherscan API V2 launched in October 2024 (supporting 50+ blockchains), Solscan (achieved through acquisition), Blockscan multi-chain browser covering over 30 blockchains, and HyperEvmScan.
In terms of commercial services, Etherscan's B2B service "Explorer as a Service (EaaS)" has served over 30 clients as of October 2024, further expanding its business boundaries.
How to Participate in the Points Activity?
Who Can Participate?
This activity is open to registered and active Etherscan accounts created before August 12, 2025.
How to Participate?
1. Daily check-in, with milestone points rewards for consecutive 7 and 14 days of check-ins;
2. Mystery box opening rewards (maximum 10 times throughout the activity period);
3. Claim OG rewards and 10th anniversary commemorative badge on the task page, share a tweet (add hashtag #10YearsofEtherscan, optionally tag @etherscan, submit the post link after sharing).
4. Points can be used to unlock levels (silver, gold, and higher).
First Activity Period: August 12, 2025 to August 31, 2025.
What Are the Points Used For?
Etherscan emphasizes that its points are not an on-chain token, not a token airdrop, and not tradable. Points can be used to redeem rewards, including benefits, special peripherals, features, and limited edition surprises.
As for the community's concern about whether Etherscan will issue a token, from an industry perspective, anything is possible.
