FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh: Vietnam Has the Potential to Become an Explosive Destination for Blockchain and Digital Assets
At the GM Vietnam 2025 event, FPT Group Chairman Truong Gia Binh shared the view that Vietnam is at a critical moment to breakthrough in blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, and digital assets. According to him, this is not only a global trend but also a core foundation for future economic development.
Mr. Binh noted that Vietnam possesses a special geopolitical advantage, helping the country become a promising candidate to develop into a technology, financial, and innovation center in the region. From his perspective, blockchain and digital assets will play an essential role in the world's digital economic infrastructure.
He cited an example of a small Swiss city that faced economic difficulties but transformed strongly after betting on blockchain as a long-term strategy. Today, that area belongs to the group with the highest average income in Switzerland, by leveraging the right technological opportunity.
In Vietnam, although the official legal framework for digital assets is still being perfected, industry activities are very dynamic. Many businesses, organizations, and startup communities have been actively researching and developing blockchain applications in various fields from finance and supply chain to consumer platforms.
FPT is also playing a pioneering role with the akaChain platform – a blockchain system developed by FPT, which is currently being deployed in many solutions connecting banks, businesses, and consumers in Vietnam and the region.
According to Mr. Binh, when Vietnam officially issues a legal framework for digital assets, this will be an important turning point, activating an explosive wave in technology fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), Non-Fungible Token, and many other applications.
If leveraged at the right time and with the right strategy, Vietnam can completely rise to become a leading digital technology center in Asia in the next decade.
