Emirates Airlines Partners with Crypto.com, Preparing to Integrate Cryptocurrency Payments from 2026.
Emirates Airlines, based in Dubai, has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with cryptocurrency trading platform Crypto.com to integrate crypto payment features into the airline's payment system. According to Emirates' announcement, this feature is expected to be implemented in 2026.
The cooperation agreement marks an important step for Emirates in modernizing customer experience and expanding access to a younger customer group that tends to be technology-savvy and prefers using digital currencies.
Mr. Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Chief Commercial Officer, stated: "Collaborating with Crypto.com to bring cryptocurrency into our digital payment ecosystem demonstrates Emirates' commitment to meeting the increasingly changing customer needs, especially for the young and tech-savvy generation."
Currently, Emirates has not yet specifically announced which services or products will support crypto payments, nor which tokens will be accepted during the implementation phase.
Crypto.com Pay – Crypto.com's commercial payment system – currently allows partners to accept over 20 different payment assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and many fiat currencies like USD and EUR. According to data on the company's official website, this system is being used by over 4,000 businesses globally.
Mr. Eric Anziani, Crypto.com's President and CEO, commented: "We are gradually expanding the practical applications of crypto in daily life. Partnering with a prominent partner like Emirates will create a strong momentum for the digital asset sector, while helping both sides deliver truly innovative financial solutions to customers."
In addition to the payment integration plan, both parties will also launch marketing campaigns to raise community awareness about the new crypto payment method.
Previously in May, Crypto.com also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Dubai Finance Department, paving the way for using cryptocurrency to pay government fees in the city. This move is part of Dubai's strategy to build a "cashless society" officially launched last October.
