The AI model marketplace platform OpenRouter has just completed its seed and Series A funding round with a total amount of up to 40 million USD. The company's valuation currently reaches around 500 million USD. Top investment funds such as Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and Menlo Ventures are the lead investors in the funding round, along with the participation of Sequoia and many other reputable investors in the industry.
The raised capital will be used by OpenRouter to expand product development, introduce new AI models, and enhance support capabilities for large-scale enterprises.
OpenRouter was founded in 2023 by Alex Atallah – co-founder and CTO of OpenSea – and Louis Vichy. The platform provides a unified interface connecting with over 400 large language models (LLM), helping to simplify the integration of various AI models for developers and businesses.

OpenRouter's customer base spans from tech startups to multinational corporations, supporting routing of critical tasks in business operations.
