Fraud that harms people's lives and property is extremely despicable, but clumsy scams can be both laughable and frustrating. This week, many crypto users in Taiwan might discover when logging into Facebook that they've been targeted by "Taiwan Mobile Exchange TWEX" advertisements, but upon careful examination, the fabricated scam content might make you spit out your food.
Machi Big Brother and Other Crypto Celebrities Falsely Endorsed
The scam group has put out several impressive "fake endorsers", with Machi Big Brother being forcibly named as the main spokesperson, possibly because they're both "big brothers".
Simultaneously, the scam group falsely claimed that $MITH coin has been listed on TWEX, in an attempt to gain viewers' trust.
Besides Machi Big Brother, social media reports indicate that numerous Taiwan crypto influencers and experts were also used to create fake advertisements. Examples include Wilson Huang, Zheng Yiting, and others.
What Are These Fake Ads Trying to Scam?
These fake Taiwan Mobile Exchange advertisements boast about "launching a desktop version" and emphasize high bonuses, lottery, free trading indicators for new members. However, they actually aim to lure users into depositing money, pretending to help users profit, only to prevent withdrawals after multiple deposits, leaving victims with total losses.
The scam group shamelessly claims the service is supported by Fubon Bank and Taiwan Mobile, so readers are advised not to believe these advertisements and to help report them.
The actual Taiwan Mobile Exchange TWEX website is: https://www.twex.tw/default.html
